Q2 (April - June) 2025

Bestiary Development

Our team is still hard at work on the Born from Ice Bestiary. We're creating monsters that will challenge players while being straightforward for GMs to run at the table. This is a big undertaking, but we're making good progress!

Adventure Path Development

Work continues on the Adventure Path.

Beta 0.3

Beta 0.3 is planned to release in May (barring any issues). This release will be packed with new content, including:

  • The complete Bestiary
  • The Setting Guide
  • Numerous small updates throughout the book

OGL Rreview

Pending an announced date of the revised OGL from Wizards of the Coast, we currently have this scheduled as a review pass in Q2. May move to Q3 prior to printing.

Survey for Name in Credits

We will send out a survey asking what name you want to appear in the book credits, if you backed at a level that provides that as a reward.

Q3 (July - September) 2025

Books to Printer

Early Q3 is roughly when our books will go to the printer. 

Digital Books Available

Final versions of the PDFs will be available once the books are locked and ready for printing.

Q4 (October - December) 2025

Books Shipped to Fulfillment Partner

After printing, books will ship to our fulfillment partner warehouses in Europe and the US. This process can take some time depending on time at sea, clearing port, customs, etc.

Pledge Manager Closes

We will close the Pledge Manager once all books are at the warehouses and ready to be shipped. This is also when final shipping and any applicable sales tax/VAT will be charged. 

Physical Books Ship

Books planned to ship to backers in late Q4.

Roll20 Version Releases

The Roll20 version of the game will be released roughly at the same time the books ship.

Completed Items

Full Rules Available in Beta

The game is now rules complete (barring minor adjustments or items that come up in testing) as of BETA 0.2. This means it is now fully playable, with all systems working, and future development now is focused entirely on content. If you encounter any bugs or have thoughts about the rules, please use our Google Form to report them!

The full BETA is available to:

  • All Kickstarter backers with a reward level that includes the Core Book
  • All pre-orders that include the Core Book

The Player's Guide BETA is available to:

  • All Kickstarter backers with a reward level that includes the Player's Guide
  • All pre-orders that include the Player's Guide

We are also releasing Errata to update the BETA rules in-between larger updates. Please check your BackerKit account to view these updates.

D&D 2024 Player's Handbook Review

We’ve completed our review of the 2024 Player's Handbook, and integrated ideas from it into the rules of Born from Ice.

D&D 2024 DM's Guide Review

We’ve completed our review of the 2024 Dungeon Master’s Guide. While it hasn’t required major adjustments yet, it’s given us ideas for future content and fine-tuning. 

D&D 2024 Monster Manual Review

We’ve completed our review of the 2024 Dungeon Monster Manual, which is now helping inform our final development on our Bestiary.
